Affiche Ruban mauve 2017

Prescott-Russell, September 27, 2017 –October is Child Abuse Prevention Month. To help break the silence, we invite all Prescott-Russell residents to participate in Go Purple Day on Tuesday, October 24, 2017. We encourage you to wear purple clothing and accessories on this day to show support for the prevention of child abuse. We also encourage businesses to decorate their front door in purple. The purpose of Go Purple Day is to raise awareness to ensure that every child and youth has a right to safety, and of the importance of speaking out if we see this right violated. Join the conversation on Twitter and Facebook by using the hashtag #IBREAKthesilence.

To help spread awareness, Break the silence purple T‑shirts are available for $10 at the reception of Valoris service centres until October 24, 2017.

Valoris for Children and Adults of Prescott-Russell would like to take this opportunity to stress the importance of community involvement in providing children with quality services that offer protection and security while supporting their families. It is important to remember that Ontarians have a moral duty and a legal obligation to promptly report suspected abuse or neglect of a child.
