Adoption Day 5

A family is one of the most important social environments for a child or youth. However, not everyone goes through this significant experience of human life in the same way.

Children and young people who are under the care of Valoris have all experienced a break in family ties. Although each story is unique, they all feel the need to live in a family where they will feel loved and safe, and where they can thrive.

The purpose of adoption is to give a child or a youth a forever family who will meet that essential need of being surrounded by positive people who show affection and respect. For these children and young people, offering them a family is giving them the opportunity to appropriate new values and to experience new attachments of their own. At Valoris, we believe that all children have the right to a family network ready to support, encourage and love them unconditionally.

In recent years, the Ministry of Children and Youth Services has put in place initiatives to allow more children to be adopted in Ontario, including additional financial support and favourable legislation changes to adoption.

From April 1, 2016 to March 31, 2017, Valoris finalized nine adoptions. Valoris sincerely thanks all adoptive families who have chosen to give children and adolescents what they need most; a family that offers happiness, respect and safety.

The next Adoption Information Session will be held at Plantagenet on December 5, 2017. If you have any questions about adoption or to register for the next information session, please contact us at 1-800-675-6168.
