Every year, many families in Prescott-Russell provide time, energy and, above all, love to children, youth and adults who need a home. In recognition, on October 26, Valoris organized an evening of appreciation to highlight their outstanding work. This gathering closed the National Foster Family Week.

More than 160 guests, including 116 foster parents, vibrated to the beat of a colorful Cuban dance and music scene. Several families were acknowledged for their years of service, ranging from five to 30 years. In addition, three families were celebrated one last time as they retire after many years of dedication. Finally, ten families were recognized for eleven adoptions.

The role of foster parent is essential in our community. The commitment and investment shown by all members of a foster family ensures that children and adults have the opportunity to flourish and grow in a safe environment. In Prescott-Russell, children in care at Valoris and adults with intellectual disabilities can count on a fabulous group of foster families and home sharers.
